The Michelin Guide's review
Between 1976 and 1981, archaeologists unearthed four rows of houses from the Viking settlement, and found remarkably well-preserved objects, such as boots and brooches. Cutting-edge technology has been used to recreate the old Danish city, even including the sounds and smells of the 10C. Since 2017, visitors have been able to delve into a stunningly lifelike new animated and automated reconstruction.
