The Michelin Guide's review
Built on the site of the early town, the Castle of Xàtiva is made up of two distinct parts: the castillo menor and the castillo mayor. The fortified enclosure (towers and walls) date mainly from the Arab occupation and the Gothic period. Otherwise, the remains (the castle was dismantled by Philip V) are a good place for a walk, offering broad views of the town, the surrounding areas, the huerta and the sea in the distance.
