Hohlandsbourg Castle
Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's Opinion
The imposing castle of Hohlandsbourg, formerly the seat of one of the seigniories of the Habsburgs, was started in the 13C. It was modernised and adapted to accommodate artillery in the 16C, as the presence of the bastion and numerous cannon holes bear witness. Destroyed during the Thirty Years War, all that now remains are ruins. The impressive rectangular wall features a rampart walk, which commands a 360° panorama of the area.
