The Michelin Guide's review
The buildings of this Cistercian monastery and its church stand upstream from Linz on the south bank of the Danube. Originally Romanesque in style, it was to later become a Rococo masterpiece. On 6 March 1733, the monastic buildings were badly damaged by fire. Rebuilding under local architect Johann Haslinger continued until 1748. Don't miss the interior of the church, richly decorated by Martino and Bartolomeo Altomonte and Franz Joseph Holzinger.
