Description

Facing each other on the square of the same name, to the north of the St-Charles church, these two pavilions (1899) were designed by architect Otto Wagner in the highly original Viennese Art. Their filigree lines blend harmoniously with the highly visible green iron structure and the sheets of white marble, a construction that was innovative for the period and is crowned by an undulating copper sheet roof. The architect also embellished the building with gilded reliefs and gold-encrusted ornamentation.
