The Michelin Guide's review
The façade of this building is a striking sight. Built on the site of the 16C church (a fragment is still visible in the courtyard) and St Dorothy's cloisters, after which it is named, the Dorotheum is one of the largest auction rooms in Central Europe. This pawnbroker, founded in 1707 by Joseph I, houses a collection of antiques, paintings, sculptures and countless other items, some of which are occasionally sold at auction.
