The Michelin Guide's review
Temple Newsam is a residence built in Tudor and Jacobean style arranged around a central courtyard. It was built in the late 15C and modified in the 17C. An inscription from this latter period runs around the balustrade. Inside is an outstanding collection of very well-presented decorative art as well as some fine canvases by old masters. The park comprises several gardens. Children will enjoy a visit to the farm, home to some 400 animals.
