The Michelin Guide's review
Designated a national park in 1994, the Biesbosch (or Biesbos) is made up of three parts and extends across the provinces of North Brabant and South Holland. Thanks to major dyke construction work, only a 7 100ha zone is now submerged. Its small islands are made up of reeds, rushes and grassy meadows. The Biesbosch is very popular with boating enthusiasts and a number of different water sports are available here. The Biesbosch Museum provides an insight into the region's fauna and flora.
