The Michelin Guide's review
Designed by Tylman van Gameren for Augustus II at the very start of the 17C, the Ogród Saski miraculously escaped the destruction wrought by the Second World War. These lovely gardens, with some hundred species of hundred-year-old trees, are the lungs of central Warsaw. The main path has a 19C fountain, the city's first water tower, a sun dial and elegant Baroque statues symbolising the Virtues, the Sciences and the Elements.
