The Michelin Guide's review
This truly beautiful Baroque-style church was the work of the Dutch architect Tylman van Gameren. It was commissioned by the French queen, Marie Sobieska, in memory of her husband's victory over the Turkish armies in Vienna in 1683, and houses the Sobieski funeral chapel. "Marysieńka" had brought over from France some of the Benedictine Sisters of the Perpetual Adoration of the Most Holy Sacrament; nuns of this order still live cloistered not far from the church today.
