The Michelin Guide's review
Mont d'Oro (2 389m) is one of Corsica's major peaks, and is a part of a ridge that divides the east and west coasts of the island. Its name (literally meaning "gold") originates from the many river sources on its slopes. The long and arduous hike to this peak reveals the full variety of Corsica's mountain landscapes, with grandiose views that stretch from Monte Cinto to the north to the islands off the coast of Tuscany to the east.
