The manufacture of bobbin-lace has been undertaken at Vila do Conde since the 16C. The Lace museum was created to revitalise it. This manual activity requires great dexterity from the lace makers. The museum traces the various aspects of this business through an exhibition of old and modern lace, photos, but mostly through the presence of lace makers who work on site.
