Verzy Forest (1,050ha) is home to a thousand or so remarkable trees: the faux (fagus in Latin) is a very slow-growing beech tree, famous for its incredibly twisted, knotted branches. Two other such forests exist in Europe (Germany and Sweden), but with fewer trees. A signposted trail through the forest will acquaint you with this natural environment (60-90mins).
