The Michelin Guide's review
The elegant polychrome marble façade of Santa Maria dei Miracoli is one of the best examples of Renaissance art in Venice. It is also one of the earliest, having been built by Pietro Lombardo between 1481 and 1489. The interior is just as impressive as the exterior, with its panels of polychrome marble in soft tones, its coffered ceiling with fifty gilded and carved compartments adorned with prophets and patriarchs, and its porphyry medallions. A magnificent sight.
