The Michelin Guide's review
This church is named after the vines that grew here when it was built by the Franciscans. The current church (1534) was built following designs by Sansovino, while its façade by Palladio is reminiscent of a Classical temple. The bell tower, one of the tallest in Venice, is similar to the one in Piazza San Marco. Inside the church, note the Four Evangelists, a youthful work by Tiepolo, the Madonna with Child by Veronese, and the Virgin surrounded by Saints by Giovanni Bellini.
