To go up the east coast of Tenerife, there are two options: take the TF 1, certainly quicker, but with no great charm, or the TF 28, which we would advise, if you have the time. This picturesque road, which winds along the mountainside, has several lookouts along the way. Don't miss the Mirador de la Centinela: like a sentinel set on a rocky outcrop, it looks out over a vast, cultivated plain, where several craters are dotted about.
