The Michelin Guide's review
Situated in the southern part of the medina, the Tourbey el-Bey houses the tombs of the rulers from the Husseinite dynasty - along with those of their wives and ministers - who held power from 1705 until Tunisia's independence. Built in the second half of the 18C, this is the largest mausoleum in the city, crowned with two main domes and divided into several rooms. The rich decor of ceramics and marble combines Italian and Ottoman influences.
