In the centre of the old town, this square is surrounded by the Palace of the Podesta topped by a high belfry, the Trecento palace (1207) and the Renaissance Palazzo Pretorio. Below, on Piazza Monte di Pietà stands the former Monte di Pietà pawnshop.
