The Michelin Guide's review
The inhabitants of Tourcoing felt they recognised themselves so much in the work of Jules Watteeuw (1849-1947), that they decided to offer him this house decorated by friends who were artists and sculptors. Moreover, a bronze plaque is placed on the native home of the "exalter of Tourcoing" (Grand'Place), while a monument in his honour stands in the Town Hall gardens.
