The Michelin Guide's review
Established in a modest wooden trading house of the Edo period, this museum founded by Doctor Shoya Yoshida is part of the Mingei movement, which seeks to promote traditional folk crafts. Its holdings of almost 5,000 objects, beautifully illustrate the Japanese wabi-sabi concept (beauty born out of the simplicity of modest, worn and imperfect objects): Japanese and Korean pottery, old furniture, kimonos, bamboo utensils, etc.
