The Michelin Guide's review
Tokaj is not only the name of a charming little town, but also of an entire wine region classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hungary has been renowned for its sweet wine, the product of volcanic soil and late harvests, since the 16C. Before coming to the region, visitors should commit two words to memory: "bor" (wine) and "pince" (cellar), as tastings are a major feature of a visit! There are many villages and cellars to choose from.
