The Michelin Guide's review
Housed beneath the cross and reticulated vaults of the old Abbey of St Catherine (1251) are numerous objects and documents illustrating the history of Stralsund, notably the Franciscan Sanzkow Altarpiece (1525), local faience ware and the Viking treasure, a remarkable collection of 10C jewellery discovered on a beach on the island of Hiddensee following a violent storm in 1872. At n° 38 of the same street, you can visit the Museumhaus (1320), the interior a precious reminder of life in old Stralsund.
