The Michelin Guide's review
Still run by a dynamic German congregation, this church occupies the former German Guild Hall of Hanse (14C). Enlarged and turned into a church in the 17C, it was dedicated to St Gertrude, patron saint of travellers, merchants and sailors. The wealth of decoration dates from this period - note, in particular, the ebony pulpit and the splendid royal tribune designed by Tessin the Elder, himself a member of the parish.
