The Michelin Guide's review
Royal marriages and coronations are celebrated in this cathedral, which is also known as the Great Church. The only parish church in the town during the Middle Ages, it was enlarged in the 14C and 15C. A Baroque façade and lantern tower were added in the 18C to blend in with the Royal Palace. This imposing place of worship with its solid red-brick pillars is further embellished with sumptuous Baroque furniture. A wood sculpture, the 15C St George Slaying the Dragon, is its main attraction.
