The Michelin Guide's review
Created by the Loire upstream from Grangent, this man-made lake has isolated a strip of rock on which stand the remains of Grangent castle (12C tower) and a small chapel with a red-tiled roof. The reservoir and its banks are very popular in summertime with the inhabitants of St-Étienne who partake in its countless sports activities. St-Victor-sur-Loire is the departure point for cruises into the Loire gorges.
