  The Michelin Guide's review
This very educational museum, set in a charming 18C house and dedicated to the historic and ethnological heritage of Oléron, calls upon movies, interactive technologies and sound effects. The permanent collections chart the evolution of the island and its inhabitants from the Neolithic era to the present day: salt production, wine growing, agriculture, resin production from pine trees, fishing, traditional costumes, housing, sea bathing, tourism, etc.
