The Michelin Guide's review
This delightful 460ha park, laid out on sloping terrain as far as the Plateau de Garches, showcases Le Nôtre's incredible landscaping ability. The most remarkable feature is the 90m-long Grande Cascade, dating back to the 17C. The nearby Grand Jet is the park's most powerful fountain, reaching a height of 42m. Although the former palace, the preferred residence of many kings and emperors, was destroyed by fire, the park boasts fine panoramic view of Paris, in particular from the Jardin du Trocadéro.
