The Michelin Guide's Opinion
The cathedral's current guise dates mainly from the 13C (but underwent extensive restoration in the 19C thanks to Gilbert Scott). It is home to the Bible used during the investiture of the Prince of Wales in 1969, and to the monument erected in honour of Bishop William Morgan, who said, "if religion is not taught in the mother tongue then it will lie hidden and unknown", and whose translation of the Bible into Welsh in 1588 ensured the survival of the language.
