The Michelin Guide's review
You will need to stand back a little to admire this façade properly. It was the most important of the four façades because it was the first one travellers from Salona would see. Its towers have disappeared, but their position can be guessed. Note the richly carved Golden Door. The statue outside depicts Gregory of Nin, who in 929 requested that Croatian instead of Latin be used during services. Behind is a steeple, one of the last vestiges of a Benedictine convent.
