The Michelin Guide's review
Horst Castle is a fine polygonal building surrounded by water and flanked by a 14C keep. This, together with the entrance porch, is all that remains of the building that Emperor Maximilian's troops destroyed in 1489. The rest of the castle, built of brick with stone string courses, dates from the 16C and 17C. The outhouses opposite the castle house a café and a visitor centre.
