The Michelin Guide's review
Perched on a hillside, the impressive structure of this 13C castle dominates the southernmost town of Hungary. Visitors enter over the old drawbridge which leads into the courtyard, whose walls are dotted with firing holes, and to the ramparts. Go up to the ramparts and admire the view of the hillsides of Villány. Also worth visiting are the Gothic chapel (15C), the Knights' Hall, the old prison and the torture chamber where you will be treated to graphic explanations of how each instrument of torture worked.
