The Michelin Guide's review
Bad weather has eroded the Buddha images of Wat Chao Chan, sculpting their faces into simple lines reminiscent of the statues in the Cyclades. Behind the ruins of the wihan stands a fully restored prang, which was originally built by Jayavarman VII. The niches hollowed out in the building's three false doors were probably once occupied by statues. To the right, a mondop, once covered by a wooden roof, still houses the remains of a standing Buddha.
