The Michelin Guide's review
Triana is the potters' district, and the cradle of flamenco. On Plaza del Altozano is a monument to Juan Belmonte, a famous figure in bullfighting. Don't miss seeing Calle Betis, running parallel to the Guadalquivir and, in Calle Pureza, the Capilla de los Marineros (Sailors' Chapel) and its statue of La Esperanza de Triana, Seville's beloved Virgin of Hope. The neighbourhood has gradually been becoming fashionable, and is ideal for the tapeo: a tour of the tapas bars.
