The Henry Art Gallery (1927, Carl Gould) is known for encouraging the creation and exhibiting of cutting-edge art. The permanent collection, which sometimes gives way to temporary exhibitions, focuses on 20C French and American art. The contemporary collection includes works by Robert Motherwell, Max Weber and Robert Rauschenberg, as well as photographers Man Ray, Ansel Adams and Imogen Cunningham.
