Scopello tuna fishery

The Michelin Guide's review
This tiny cove lapped by crystal-clear waters features a small harbour guarded by two enormous rocky islets that rise like silent sentinels. This is the site of a former flourishing tuna fishery, the Tonnara, whose old anchors which held the nets bear witness to its past activity. Having stood intact for almost two centuries, the site has a delightfully tranquil atmosphere (out of season), which is interrupted only by the sound of the waves lapping on to the rocks. Truly idyllic.
