Located to the north of the Lake District, the Lanín National Park is dominated by the volcano of the same name. Created in 1937 to protect 412 000ha of Andean forest, this magnificent park is well worth a visit to hike along the numerous footpaths which crisscross its superb forests, home to abundant wildlife and pristine lakes teeming with fish.
