The Michelin Guide's review
Ringed for centuries by forts and fortifications, Alderney is the northernmost of the Channel Islands. A large plateau rendered barren by the wind and covered in springtime by broom, heather and daisies, it measures around 8km2. To the south it has granite cliffs and it is surrounded by reefs. Telegraph Bay, Clonque Bay and Braye Bay are all popular with visitors in quest of sun and sea.
