To celebrate the 700th anniversary of the Confederation, a path of around 35 km was created from Rütli around Uri Lake. Called the Voie suisse, this route is divided into as many forks as there are cantons and semi-cantons, a total of 26. La Voie Suisse leads to Brunnen on Place des Suisses-de-l'Étranger, along the lake. Along the path, there are a number of commemmorative sites and natural locations of great beauty.
