International shoe museum
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This museum, set in the former convent of the Visitation, a vast edifice built between the 17C and 19C, is the venue of a shoe collection displayed chronologically and by theme, from ancient times to 1900. Sumptuous, funny or enigmatic, the shoes provide an insight into the way people have dressed throughout history and in different parts of the world. The collections related to 20C fashion feature works by top designers, among whom the inventor of the stiletto heel, Roger Vivier.
