La Maddalena church

The Michelin Guide's review
It was rebuilt by Carlo Fontana, in the 17th century. It has a tormented facade, which was excessively inspired by Borromini and its interior is a rare example of Rococo style in Rome. Its extravagant plan (single elliptical nave, niches with slantwise altars) makes the building look majestic. It is richly decorated and lavishly laden with stuccoes, gold or marble, and a beautiful light provides the church with "old salon charm".
