The Michelin Guide's Opinion
This 50 000ha plateau makes up an orderly patchwork of landscapes, where forests alternate with vineyards and fields of crops, dotted with some 60 villages, as meticulously maintained as the rows of vines. The "Mountain" has every reason to be proud of its vintage wines, original architecture and well-preserved flora and fauna, including wild orchids. Out of this sea of vegetation, there emerges the incongruous form of a lighthouse, the Phare de Verzenay, which houses the Musée de la Vigne (Vine Museum).
