The Michelin Guide's review
In 1836, Narcisse Greno founded the company and soon afterwards it merged with L.-A Pommery. It was the widow of the latter who developed this champagne house, launched the brut style of champagne, built the current buildings in Elizabethan style, connecting 120 old Gallo-Roman chalk mines with 18km of galleries, and acquired one of the most beautiful estates in the Champagne region, covering an area of 300ha. Today, contemporary sculptures and works of art adorn the cellars. A particular highlight is the 75 000l cask made by Emile Gallé.
