The Michelin Guide's review
The "white" town, a residential and summer resort city located on the southeastern part of the island of Rügen, was founded in 1810 by Prince Wilhelm Malte von Putbus. Though the Prince's palace was demolished in 1960, the neo-Classical town still exists and forms a homogeneous whole. Putbus is nicknamed the "Pearl of Rügen".
