The Michelin Guide's review
Alfons Mucha (1860-1939) made his name in Paris with his posters for Sarah Bernhardt (1895). He became one of the masters of Art Nouveau, a style that he abandoned upon his return to Prague so as to concentrate on more politicised works, such as The Slav Epic. You won't get to see them here, but the exhibition nonetheless gives a wonderful glimpse of Mucha's talent. It looks back over all of his Parisian work, his lesser-known posters treating Czech subjects, and his oil paintings.
