The Michelin Guide's review
This lovely trapezoid plaza, the name of which means "Small Square", dates from the era of the Premyslide kings (late 9C-1306). In the centre, the coping of the well is decorated with an intricate wrought-iron grill from the mid-16C, crowned by a gilded lion of Bohemia. Among the numerous Baroque façades, note that of the Rott house (no 3/142), which was formerly an ironmongery and is boldly painted with motifs by Mikõláš Aleš, and, at no 12/458, the oldest window in town.
