The Michelin Guide's review
This small museum recounts the life of the famous composer of My Homeland (Má Vlast), as well as charting the major role played by Bedřich Smetana in establishing a typically Czech musical tradition. Musical instruments and illustrations of operas are also on display. The museum is housed in an elegant neo-Renaissance building that used to contain the machinery that pumped water from the river to distribute it around the city. Its windows look out onto the first arches of Charles Bridge.
