Pommersfelden Castle
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Also known as Schloss Weissenstein, the Baroque palace of Pommersfelden was built between 1711 and 1718 for Archbishop Lothar Franz von Schönborn. See the handsome ceremonial staircase with three storeys of galleries; the traditional Renaissance artificial grotto, the Marble Hall with its frescoes by Rottmayr and the Elector's apartments with their painting-filled and mirrored rooms are also well worth seeing.
