The Michelin Guide's review
This large Romanesque church, built in 1049, is a place of pilgrimage and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Outside, observe the east wall where the chapels are grafted onto the transept and the ambulatory. Inside, the chancel and transept are considerably higher than the nave. In the crypt, a 19C chest contains the remains of Saint Hilaire.
