Situated to the south of Loei, the Phu Kradung national park has around 350km2 of unique landscapes for hikers to explore, including forests teeming with numerous species of trees, carnivorous plants, and flowers as a result of the temperate climate here. It is well worth climbing to the top of the Phu Kradung peak (1 360m), a 60km2 platform reached after a challenging ascent, particularly the final few metres. In addition to numerous viewpoints (Makduk and theLom Sak cliff), you can also admire a number of waterfalls such as Tham Yai and Tham So. You might even catch a glimpse of a black bear...
