The Michelin Guide's review
This cliff, over 900m long and 80m high, looms over the Vézère valley. Like huge scars in the rock, its five terraces contain about a hundred cavities, making it the largest troglodyte complex in Europe. The incredible network of pipes, stairs and passages, as well as water tanks, sinks and fireplaces illustrate the extent of human presence on this site over the centuries. The immense, 300m-long terrace affords a beautiful view of the valley.
